To send off the current V8 Vantage, Aston Martin built eight examples of what it calls the Vantage AMR Pro. Named for the company’s racing team, the Vantage AMR Pro borrows its bodywork and aerodynamics from Aston’s Le Mans-winning Vantage GTE and itps 4.7-liter V8 from a GT4 race car, and combines them with a fully adjustable suspension. So, it’s basically a race car. But, as Carfection finds out in its newest video, the AMR Pro has a full interior, and road-legal Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. The car looks, sounds, and turns like a race car, but it’s just as friendly as a regular V8 Vantage street car. That has to make it the coolest track-day car you can buy, right? It probably is, but it comes at a cost: £950,000 (roughly $1.25 million) plus tax. So it costs as much as a race car too. Hey, at least it’s cheaper than the $2.3 million Aston Martin charged for its other track-only special, the Vulcan.
